My environmental archaeology research is focused
on Central America and the world of temples and jungles. I work
to understand how the sophisticated and populace cultures of the
ancient Maya, Aztecs, Olmecs, etc. survived in the dense tropical
rainforests and fragile volcanic uplands of Mesoamerica.
